Message of Principal

With 25 years of working experience in Engineering Institutes in various capacities in India and abroad, I found the lack of Undergraduate Research which need to be initiated by highly motivated faculty members in any Indian organization. Today’s students need hands on experience with technology leading to innovations and of course, discoveries. Today, Degrees are earned by anyone hassle-free. But real need of Industry and other organizations are uncovered in our curriculum which is to be fulfilled by Value added trainings, writing research papers on mini projects and active participation in consultancy work undertaken by faculty members.in tenure track faculty position abroad, faculty member need to generate research funds from industry and other organization in the vicinity. Students are given active participation and other facility to be part of research and consultancy work of said faculty member. Unfortunately, such scenario is not been seen in most of engineering institutes in India.

Professional membership of international organizations, tie up with industries of eminence and delivering lectures by faculty and students in other organizations are most important and vital for any engineering institutes to get close and form a firm bonding leading to academic and technical exchange. Faculty need to establish such relations and proceed with collaborating few projects and activities thereby strengthening Industry Institute Interaction activity. Of course we do have many ties up and MoU with Industries but most of them found on paper only.

Paper presentation in peer reviewed journals listed in Scopus, Web of Science, Thomas Reuters, Sci-Hub and many other of international repute is most vital and given utmost priority. Motivating faculty members to do research, writing DPR’s, by workload relaxation and freedom to visit and collaborate with Government, Semi Government organizations and industries should be encouraged.

Other areas of priorities shall be working in alignment with guidelines of Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET), USA which is very sound accreditation document for institute being identified as Research Institute. Unfortunately, we just follow a NAAC and NBA guideline which often leads to self-satisfaction and self-appreciation. At present, our stakeholders are not happy with current educational policies, guidelines and practises. We need to make our stakeholder highly satisfied with unique institute features of research, consultancy and other branding activities of technical nature.

I hope transition as Principal of Bharat College of Engineering, Badlapur shall prove to be more effective to transform high school students into Quality driven Responsible Engineer cum Citizen who fulfils the demand of Industry and society too. My priorities shall be, but not limited, Motivating faculty and students to undertake research projects internally and externally, Collaboration with Core Engineering Industries, Organizations for Professionalism, Identification of research oriented faculty members and students and making a poll for them in institutes, Implementation of Research, Consultancy and other best innovating practises of various accreditation bodies like ABET, IAO, NBA, NAAC and ISO etc.

My Heartiest Congratulations and Best Wishes for Current and Prospective students for choosing BHARAT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, BADLAPUR as stepping stone towards success in their future endeavours.
